Running a creative business is no easy feat, especially when you’re doing it alone. Not only are you spending your days creating (which is what you love!), but you also have to make time for marketing, social media, tech, accounting, copywriting, web design, and more. While the success of your business is exciting, there comes a point when it may become too much and you need to start outsourcing some of your tasks. But, how do you know if you’re really ready to take some things off of your plate? Let’s go over some of the telltale signs that you’re ready to outsource tasks.

You’re Spending Lots of Time on Tasks You Hate

If you are running out of hours in a day and spending lots of time on tasks you hate, it’s time to outsource. If you love creating, most of your time should be spent on that instead of coming up with the best social media strategy or building a website from scratch. Remember to play to your strengths, and leave the rest up to someone else. Think about the things you love to do, then think about the things you hate to do (and outsource those!)

You Aren’t Able to Grow

You could have thousands of amazing ideas for your business, but if you don’t have the time to develop them, you could limit the potential of your business and fall short of your goals. A business needs growth and new ideas to continue to thrive! Give yourself the time to get into your “zone of genius” so that you can feel exhilarated about your creative business again and take it to new levels.

You’re Stressed Out and Overwhelmed

If you are feeling stressed out and starting to lose that sense of joy of running your creative business, it might be a good idea to make a change. The last thing you want as an entrepreneur is to be burnt out. Start by outsourcing some of the small tasks on your plate, like running your social media accounts or managing your email. Even outsourcing small tasks can make a big difference to your overall mental health and wellbeing. Take care of yourself and ask for help when you need it!

The reality is we can’t do it all alone. Which is why it’s so helpful to have a dream team to take any tasks off of your plate so you can focus on what you love to do the most – creating! Outsourcing only benefits yourself and your business, allowing you to grow, meet new goals, and avoid burnout.
