Running a creative business can be time-consuming – from managing your social media to conducting marketing research to spending time actually creating. There can be a lot on your plate at one time, however, there are a few easy hacks that you can begin to incorporate into your day to streamline your business and save some time for yourself.

Time Block Your Tasks

Time blocking is exactly what it sounds like – you block off a specific time in your calendar just to complete one task. This gives you a time deadline to complete something, instead of easily pushing it off to another day. This helps you be realistic with your to-do list. Instead of having a list of 20 tasks to hopefully get to that day, you assign time blocks to your tasks, so you know that you have the time to do them.

Scheduling Tools

If you struggle with staying consistent on social media or sending out emails to your list, take one day a week to schedule everything out. This helps you stay active on social media without physically being on the platform (where there are lots of distractions). You can do the same thing with your email list.

Batch Create Your Content

Sometimes when you do one task, and then switch to another, and then switch to another – everything can get kind of jumbled in your brain, causing you to get distracted and burnt out. Batching helps you get into the flow and be consistent. The next time you’re recording a new art tutorial, record several in a row so you have plenty ready to go. If you’re writing a social media caption, just write the whole week’s worth and schedule it out.

If you want to save time in your business, it’s all about planning, getting organized, and scheduling. While this may be hard for those of us who are free spirits and artists, it will save you time in the long run and streamline your business.
