You have an amazing offer for your audience and you’re counting down the days until the cart opens, but do you have your emails ready to go? Selling to your audience requires a sequence of emails to not only start a conversation with your audience, but also create a sense of urgency and showcase your product or service in the best way possible. I’ve separated these launch emails into three different types that each have their own specific purpose in launching a successful membership, product, or event.

Pre-Launch Emails

Your pre-launch emails are for warming up your audience and creating a sense of anticipation without selling or mentioning your launch quite yet. Focus on your “why” and share your expertise, providing tips or tools that may give your audience a quick win. Address some of their fears and pain points with some solutions. Let your personality shine so that your audience can get to know you and trust you while also providing something valuable.

Promotional Emails

Now that you’ve warmed up your audience, addressed some of their pain points, and demonstrated your expertise, it’s time for the magic to happen – getting your offer out there and making the sale. The main goal here is to demonstrate the benefits of your membership or product as well as any cart bumps or add-ons. These emails should consistently point readers to your sales page, invite them to ask questions, and encourage them to take action quickly.

Welcome Emails

You’ve made the sale! Now it’s time to welcome your members and provide any necessary information that they may need for their purchase. Your post-sales emails should cover topics like confirming their membership, directions on how to access their membership, and contact information for support. These emails should still provide value, even though you already made the sale. Consider adding some tips on how to get the most out of their membership or maybe even a surprise bonus.

Many business owners make the mistake of just sending out promotional emails, thinking that they just need their emails to sell their membership. There’s much more to sending out emails during a launch, including a series of pre-launch emails as well as post-launch emails. Using these three types of emails will ensure success during your launch while building trust and authority with your list.
